Day 38 - Giswil, Switzerland -> Interlaken, Switzerland

Sat, July 20
25.9 Miles (1291.2 total)

Tough start, but our last major hill day! We're starting to think of days as "our last ___." Two days ago was our last longest day. But killer hill right at the start. Took us 2.5 hours to go 11.5 miles. But awesome downhill after that. The next 11.5 miles took a little less than an hour! We passed through the town of Lungern during our uphill. Really pretty town next to beautiful blue water and mountains. I occasionally think about how we are seeing things no other tourist probably has. Anyone else going to Interlaken would take the highway, not the crazy, one lane, steep roads we were on. We got to our campsite not long after, set things up, and took the bus into town for lunch and to take a funicular up to Harder Kulm. We're trying to get it in today because it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. We haven't had a single day of rain cycling -only on rest days. The view was gorgeous. You could see the lakes on both sides of Interlaken and a snow covered mountain in the middle. Just stunning.

We got sandwiches, milk, and a few other things for lunch and dinner at the grocery store in town. Switzerland is even more expensive than I remember it being. We save a ton of money making our own meals at the grocery store.
