Bit of a rough morning. All the drying off and wiping down of the tents we did yesterday was ruined with the rain we got during the night. We wiped down the tents again, packed them up a little wet, and hit the road.
We passed through Lenno today, and I wanted to see the Villa del Balbainello. This is where Anakin and Padme were married in Star Wars Ep 2 and where James Bond recovered towards the end of Casino Royale. Unfortunately, it was gated off and I couldn't see it... Next time!
We entered Switzerland today! I was bummed to be leaving the lakes of Italy. They were some of my favorite riding and sightseeing yet. And during the ride today, we passed a bunch of tiny waterfalls by the roadside. So pretty. But we did Lake Lugano today! Just as pretty as Italy, but everything seems much quieter so far. And we were also on the EuroVelo 5 today for a little. That's the second EuroVelo route we've been on this trip!
We have our second host! David couldn't see us right away, so we set up our tents in the park to dry. Not long after setting the tents up, some people started bringing stuff to the stage there. We asked what was going on, and they're having a concert tonight, and we happened to meet the lead singer (Frank) and the drummer (Marco)! Another lucky case of us being in the right place at the right time!
Glad the lakes of Switzerland were just as pretty as Italy! Bummer about the movie site. Did you get to see the concert?
