Rest day! But started off rough. We got wrecked with rain in the early morning. My tent had water in it, and it seemed to have rained so hard that dirt splashed up and sprayed the sides of our tents. After hanging out under a little porch and the bathroom for maybe an hour waiting for the rain to slow down, we made our way to the ferry to head to Varenna. There we got a hot coffee and tea and watched the rain under the restaurant awning. Weather app said rain until midnight, so we were just waiting for it to slow down again and take the ferry to Bellagio. Luckily, the rain stopped and it got sunny! From there, we took the ferry back to Menaggio and headed to the campground to unpack the tents, wash them down, and let them dry. Felt good knowing I'd be sleeping in a clean, dry tent tonight.
After that, I took a short bike ride to Villa La Gaeta, the location at the very end of Casino Royale where James Bond shoots Mr. White! Hoping to see another Bond/Star Wars spot tomorrow in Lenno. For now, we're hoping to stay dry the rest of the night and are looking forward to another host tomorrow as we enter Switzerland.
Seems like the clouds were holding all the rain for the past 28 days and let loose on you all at once!
