Day 26 - Gaium, Italy -> Riva del Garda, Italy

Mon, July 8
40.2 Miles (846.8 total)

One of the prettiest days of riding we've had in a long time! We rode by the coast of Lake Garda the whole time, next to stunning water and towering mountains with their peaks in the clouds. And we saw so many people out cycling! Always nice to see. Every couple miles, we would pass through a new town filled with tourists and little shops. Reminded me a lot of the Amalfi Coast, with its little towns on hillsides by the water. Not necessarily hillside towns here, but they are at the base of mountains and gorgeous. Biggest difference would probably be that I would rent a car here - the driving here makes sense. The Amalfi Coast would be terrifying to drive on, with its narrow roads and tour buses. The roads here actually have lines on them separating TWO LANES of traffic.

The campsite is pretty cool! Wi-Fi that reaches our tents, bathrooms with toilet paper and soap, and a pool, couple ping pong tables, the works! But also the hardest minigolf we've ever played! A concrete, not really flat course that just had the balls bouncing. Made it extra difficult, but some holes were just impossible. But it was a fun way to end the night.
