Day 6 - Naples, Italy

Rest day! We started the day with another a Rick Steves walking audio tour of Naples. They're pretty handy! We walked down market streets with loads of vendors we would never have seen otherwise. During the tour, we grabbed a couple snacks. We got a round bun filled with whipped cream. That's all it was, not great. We ate a bagel-like pastry filled with almonds. Just tasted like toast. We got a mini pizza that you could fit in the palm of your hand. Nice snack, nothing crazy. And I got another sfogliatella, this time filled with cream. Much tastier.

We skipped the very end of the audio tour to make our way to the Opera House for the 12:30 tour. When we got there, they said the only English tour of the day was an hour ago. We decided to go anyway. It was a nice opportunity to sit a little, and the Opera House was still impressive to be in. We were supposed to see the archeological museum with all the Pompei exhibits today, but the only day of the week it's closed... is Tuesday.

After the Opera House, we stopped at Sorbillo for a wallet pizza - a pizza you buy already folded in half. Another tasty snack! After that, we walked back to the room to chill for a bit. 

For dinner, we went to Pull O'Ver for chicken. If I come back to Naples, I'm definitely coming back here again. The chicken and potatoes were incredible, best I've had in forever! We got more gelato for dessert, and headed back to the room to call it a night. 

Another thing about Naples - don't think it's a must-see when visiting Italy. Yes, the buildings and architecture are very pretty. But you see these types of buildings all over Italy. There's a lot of small shops selling garage trinkets, people selling sunglasses and jewelry on the streets, and a lot of trash on the ground. And you're bound to get hit with cigarette smoke at some point if you go out walking.
