Rough day. Started with rain, ended with rain. Not a downpour, but just a constant, light rain. So it definitely could've been worse, but was wet all day. And leaving Montreal was a headache. We must have hit two or three detours, where bike paths and bridges were closed. We just could not get out of Montreal. In the end, we ended up leaving the way we came, going pretty far off route. We finally ended up connecting with our route after 41 miles. But in the end, we only went one extra mile than we had originally planned, so it all worked out.
We had another host! Becky let us set up our tents on her porch. Super nice to be out of the rain and sleep in a dry place. This also might have been the first time I took a hot shower this trip. After being damp all day, it was heavenly. We talked to her most of the night before calling it an evening and settling in.
Argh, hopefully that was your worst day and the days ahead will be much better, fingers crossed! Your host looks super friendly and it looks like a nice big porch to rest and dry out!
