We left Pat's house a little before 8am and headed to the grocery store for breakfast. From there, we had yet another day of great riding with the wind's help, and mostly on bike paths. We got hit with a little rain, but nothing bad.
The path taking us into Montreal was really cool! It was a small strip of land with only an old road on it, water on both sides. I have it pictured at the bottom, highlighted in red. We got to the hostel in Montreal, and I felt relieved. Two rest days in a row now! We dropped off some things at our room and rode the bikes to a shop for safekeeping. From there, we got poutine at La Banquise. It was really good! Think I like cheesy-bacon fries a little more, but I'd happily order poutine again! We walked back to the hostel, took a shower, washed some clothes in the sink, and got dinner.
The Montréal Complètement Cirque is apparently starting this week. Not sure what it is, but a few blocks of a street was shut down and stuff was being set up to celebrate. Another pedestrian street was jam packed with restaurants and people. A lot going on in this city!
Montreal looks like such a nice city! I like the pic of the purple elephant in sunglasses! Is that for the Cirque this week or always there? The bike route with the little strip of land must have been cool to ride on, it looks really nice!!! Enjoy your 2 days of rest!
