Day 3 - Haleeka, PA -> Troy, PA

Tues, June 27
46.2 Miles (132.1 total)

Another day where we were expecting rain all day. But it turned out fine! Morning was still pretty damp, and the clothes didn't dry overnight, so had to pack up the campsite with wet clothes and rain fly. So we packed up and got started. The route today was almost entirely uphill, but at a low grade, so we were hoping it wouldn't be too bad. And with the wind at our backs, it was smooth sailing! Until we hit a detour... Apparently bridge work was being done (although how traffic was moving, you wouldn't have guessed it) and we had to go off course... Up the biggest hill we've seen yet on this trip. It was work. But we made it to the next town, refilled our bottles with ice and water, and had a little more of a climb before a nice long downhill into Troy. We set up our tents in the park, and almost immediately after I got back from my shower, it started pouring. Luckily our spot was near a concession stand with an overhang, so we chilled there for a good bit until the rain stopped long enough for us to bike into town and grab something for dinner. Afterwards we biked back to the site, killed some time, and got ready for bed.
