44.6 Miles (85.9 total)
Got up at 7:00 and was on the road by 8:00, but not before eating a muffin and pastry that Beth got for our breakfast. We thought for sure we were going to get hit with rain again today, but all we got was a light spray on and off.
Today was another easy day of riding! No big hills and we made great time. We passed Williamsport, where they hold the Little League World Series. Other than that, we had some nice trails today that kept us off the road. We stopped at Wendy's to refill our drinks and get some ice, then Weis to get pre-cooked chicken tenders to add to our ramen and apple turnovers for breakfast tomorrow.
We got to Haleeka Campground just in time to set up our tents before it started raining. It stopped pretty quick, but the rest of the evening it was raining on and off. We washed our clothes in the shower like usual, but they didn't get a chance to dry. So we'll strap them to the bikes tomorrow, or if it's supposed to rain like the forecast for tomorrow says it is, then we'll have to pack them up wet. And the water here is the worst. Strong sulfur smell, like rotten eggs or a fart. We cooked with it, but we're not drinking it. It's gross. We scoped out a gas station 5 miles up the road, so we're refilling there instead taking this nasty crap.
